22 year old Akoti Rene Mukete has been one of the bright lights of an already bright 2018 MTN elite one season for YOSA of Bamenda. Talk about a player that has been transformed to a match winner for YOSA this season and Akoti’s name immediately comes to mind. The former Best Stars Academy and Dragon Yaoundé forward has been on a steady improvement in form since he moved to Bamenda from Dragon Yaoundé. The little magician has been a regular this season for Doumbe Bosso providing 4 assists (The most for any YOSA player) amongst which include winning a Konyuy Jude converted penalty in Bamenda against Feutcheu FC,a missed penalty in Yaounde against Colombe. Vincent Aboubakar and FC Porto win the Portuguese super league to end Benfica’s dominance

FC Porto’s Estadio de Dragao became home of the champions of the Portuguese league for the first time in 4 years after a goalless draw between Sporting Lisbon and Benfica on Saturday handed FC Porto the title in their absence with FC Porto 4 points better than Sporting and Benfica with 2 games left for Porto and one each for Benfica and Sporting. 25 year old Cameroonian forward,  Karl Took Ekambi  has been shortlisted amongst 3 contenders for the  2018 Marc Vivian Foe award . 37 year old former Barcelona forward Samuel Eto’o fils Won another 3 points for Konyaspor on Saturday afternoon to keep the club’s hopes of staying in the Turkish top flight alive. Etoo scored from the penalty spot on Saturday against Karabukspor in the 37 th minute to hand the club’s 9th win of the season. Eto’o who now counts 5 goals for Konyaspor since joining the club in January 2018. Twenty one year old former defender for UMS of Loum Ngah Fabrice Gael enjoyed an impressive start of life in the CAF champions league on Friday night as his Moroccan club Jadida FC recorded a 1 all draw in the first group games away in Algeria against north African neighbours MC Algers. Ngah who was making his debut in the tournament was voted man of the man for his club by the club’s technical staff though he limbed off due to an anlke injury in the 75th minutes. Ngah Fabrice who had enjoyed a great season with Jadida scored last weekend in the Moroccan championship and he will be massively missed by his team and team mates. After over a month without a coach,the lone representative of the south region in the MTN elite one championship,Colombe of Dja and Lobo have this Tuesday named former Astres and AS Matelots boss Albert Charlemagne Mbongo as their new coach for the rest of the 2018 season. Albert Charlemagne Mbongo who’s longest coaching spell with a single club lasted 3 season’s at Astres of Douala between 2015 – 2017 after he was brought in to replace Richard Towa(now head coach of Dragon of Yaoundé) started the 2018 football season as head coach of Bamboutos FC but was replaced by Anicet Mbarga Foe after he oversaw the club in 10 games,won 3 lost 3 and recorded 4 draws. The “ Abakwa boys”  of Bamenda have made it to the top of the MTN Elite Two league at the end of the 1st phase after the 15th day of play, a day at which they were at rest.  Canon of Yaounde  beat National Polytechnic 2-0 to seat as runner’s up with 27 points.  Avion of Nkam  finishes 3rd with 25 points. The ongoing battle to ascend to 1st division is tough with only 3 places for 15 contenders. MTN Elite Two: Canon beats National to secure second position

Canon of Yaounde beat National Polytechnic of Bambui 2-0 in a day 15th match of the MTN Elite Two league played at the Mbankomo CAF stadium. The two teams came on the pitch with similar colours and arguments over jersey colours delayed kick off time. In a one way match dominated by the “ Mekok megonda ” of Yaounde, National polytechnic did all it could to contained Canon but finally bowed at the 56th minute when  Achille Romuel Ntsama  got the opener with a beautiful header and right back  Samuel Tanga Bassale  for the assist. South west stadia to be closed ahead of another CAF inspection mission

Directors of Football grounds in the south west region of Cameroon except the Limbe Omnisport stadium have been asked to closed the grounds ahead of the next CAF inspection slated for July 2018. An instruction to the stadium director of the Buea Molyko stadium from the director of infrastructure at the office of the minister of sports and physical education on Monday explained that the Buea- Molyko Omnisport ,Limbe middle farms and centenary stadia should be closed till further notice. Speaking to mysoccer24.com,the director of the Buea Molyko Omnisport stadium, Njonje Simon explained that;the stadia will be closed to enhance the grass rejuvenation process and give the grass an attractive look as it was the case in the first CAF inspection visit ahead of the 2019 AFCON in Cameroon.
