Vincent Aboubakar and FC Porto win the Portuguese super league to end Benfica’s dominance

FC Porto’s Estadio de Dragao became home of the champions of the Portuguese league for the first time in 4 years after a goalless draw between Sporting Lisbon and Benfica on Saturday handed FC Porto the title in their absence with FC Porto 4 points better than Sporting and Benfica with 2 games left for Porto and one each for Benfica and Sporting.
It is the first time since 2013 that the Liga Nos Portugal title will be the Dragon’s and the first under new coach Sergio Conceicao.
Conceicao in his first campaign has transformed this generation of FC Porto players to better competitors.
Vincent Aboubakar’s 15 goals and 3 assists in 27 games most of which came in the first half of the season has been pivotal to Porto’s success.
The 2018 title is  the club’s 21st and Aboubakar’s 2 title in 2 years after he won the Turkish super league last season while on loan from FC Porto at Turkish side Besiktas.
In a related development,30 year old Cameroonian/Caykur Rizespor forward, *Leonard Kwekeu* will return home with a league winners medal after his Turkish club registered a 4 goals to 2 win on Saturday over Gaziantep to secure the title TFF title with 69 points from 34 games beating Ankarangucu to the 2nd tier title.
Kweuke has scored 7 goals in 14 appearance this term for Rizespor but has not featured for Cameron for over 2 years.
Both of  them join *Fai Collins Ngoran,Franck Junior Evina and Franck Kom* to return home with a medal after a long season abroad.
Fai Collins won the Belgian cup this season with Standard Liege weeks ago,while 17 year old Franck Junior Evina who made his Bundes Liga debut last weekend against Frankfurt and appeared this weekend against Koln is a Bundes Liga winner with German giants Bayern Munchen. Franck Kom on his part won the  Tunisian premiership title with Esperance of Tunis just under 3 weeks ago.
Njie Clinton,Andre Franck Zambo Anguissa,Henri Bendimo all of Olympique Marseille and Joel Matip of Liverpool can still win top honours this season with the Marseille trio to face Athletico Madrid in the final of  the UEFA Europa league on the 16th of May in Neighbouring Lyon while Matip’s Liverpool faces defending champions Real Madrid in Kiev on the 26 of May in a repeat of the 1981 champions league final which Liverpool of Legendary Zimbabwean goalkeeper Bruce Grobelar won.
Three trophies and counting in 2 years for 26 years old Vincent Aboubakar. In addition he has in this period become 5th all time top scorer of his national team with 20 goals, just behind Samuel Etoo, Roger Milla, Patrick Mboma and Francois Oman Biyik with time on his side.
Porte dethrones winners in the last 4 years, Benfica with 82 points ahead of their day 33 game on Sunday evening against Feirense.
