Complete facts about Cameroon’s MTN Elite one; day one fixtures

After a three months recessed period,the Cameroon professional football league(MTN Elite one) will be back this weekend with the opening game in Limbe on Sunday 11/02/2018 and the rest of the fixtures to follow from Monday 12/02/2018.

In the opening weekend 2017 champions and Cameroon’s representative in the CAF champions league EDING FC OF LEKIE have been programmed to visit 2008 runners up ASTRES of Douala.

While 2017 CUP of Cameroon champions,NEW STARS of Douala are to host the team of the second half last season COLOMBE of DJA.

EDING FC and NEW STARS have continental assignments this weekend and so their games will be played on a later date.

The opener will be in Limbe which confidently is the venue where EDING’s captain PASCAL MBARGA ABEGA scored one of the goals from the penalty spot last season as EDING defeated NEWS STARS 3 nil to win her first title five years after their creation.

YOSA VS YAFOOT FC.

Created in 1996 FC Yaounde 2 is back in the Top flight.The club guided by coach Atangana Ngandi have enjoyed back to back promotions for the last two season’s and in YAFOOT’s first elite one test this season,They will be in Bamenda.Wonder kid Frank Junior upfront and experienced Pascal Lebongo are some of the New faces brought in by president Luc Assamba to add value.

YOSA on their part have change a bunch of their playing staff with the departure of over 13 first team players last season.

The wonder working Coach Emmanuel Doumbe Bosso is still the dugout man at YOSA and he has invested his trust in New Signings Mbong Lionel,Adoum Deffallah(Chadian international goalkeeper),Konyuy Jude(Returning for his 4th spell).

Given YOSA’s good home form since her promotion to elite one in 2008 newly promoted YAFOOT have a hot potato to handle in Bamenda.

STADE RENARD VS UNION DOUALA

Promoted two season’s ago,Stade Renard of Melong never suffered a defeat in Melong last season but the multiple draws(17) recorded by the club was their undoing.

In an attempt to push further than the 5th place finish last season,the Littoral club have added to their squad former Victoria United duo Banga Federick and goalkeeping sensation Tayiwoh Princewill.
