Cameroon: Stadia/towns to be used by Cameroon’s league one and two clubs for the 2018 season

After two postponements, all is nearly set for the kick off of the 2018 professional football league season in Cameroon. Sources related to APEJES OF MFOU and FEUTCHEU FC OF DJIKO have confirmed that the opening game in the Elite one competition will take place on Sunday 11th of February 2018 in Limbe.
The opening game will be a confrontation between two of the wonderful performers last term.
FEUTCHEU FC of Djiko Bandjoun(4th last season)will welcome APEJES of Mfou (3rd last season) in Limbe.
The rest of the fixtures come up from the Monday the 12th of February.
Ahead of the new season, some clubs have been allocated new venues within and without their regions of origin. This comes in the back drop of the closure of Stadia in especially the Littoral and West region.As renovation work continues ahead of AFCON 2019.
In the south west region were there is no Club from the region in Elite competitions, Buea and Limbe will host Matches.
Amongst Elite one clubs to be in the South west region is; BAMBOUTOUS FC and FEUTCHEU FC of Djiko all from the west region which will play their home games in BUEA just like ASTRES FC of DOUALA. Bamboutous may play some of her games in Limbe this is according the club’s Sporting Director KUATE YARO.
While in the Elite two competition ,AVION FC of Nkam and NATIONAL POLYTECHNIC of Bambui will receive their guest this season in Buea. Avion FC will play some of her home games in Limbe depending on the availability of ground.
NEW STARS of Douala for the second season running, UNION SPORTIVE Douala all Elite one clubs plus DYNAMO of Douala and AS MATELOT of the Elite Two family will play their home matches In Limbe.
Therefore 9 elite clubs will use grounds in the the South west region as their home grounds next season.
In the North West region, the University of Bamenda stadium in Bambili will serve home ground to Elite one side YONG SPORTS ACADEMY of Bamenda and Elite two side PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT – PWD of the same City.
The other Elite two Side to play in the North west region this season is Bang Bullets of Nkambewhich will host it’s visiting opponents at the municipal stadium in Nkambe.
In the West Region,the CENAJES Stadium in DSCHANG will host Elite one sides; FOVU of BahamAIGLE ROYAL of Menoua (El Pacha) and league Two side Racing of Bafoussam.
In the North Region,Cotonsport of Garoua will be the only side to welcome opponents to that part of the country in Garoua.
In Ngaoundere the university stadium will equally be used by the University of Ngaoundere FC
Loum and Melong in the Littoral region will host their respective league one sides; UNION MOUVEMENT SPORTIVE of Loum – UMS and STADE RENARD of Melong. In addition, this grounds will have to host league one side UNISPORT of Bafang and Elite two newcomers LION BLESSE of Fortuni.
With 6 Elite One clubs and 5 Elite Two clubs the Center Region will be the “mother of the league” this season.
Defending Champions EDING FC OF Lekie, New comers AS FORTUNA and YAOUNDE II FC (YAFOOT FC) plus APEJES of MfouDRAGON YAOUNDE and the Lone Elite club from the South region COLOMBE of Dja will host their guest in Center region.
The Center region will equally serve as home to 5 Elite Two sides namely; AS ETOA MEKI, COSMOS MBAMTKCCANON YAOUNDE and RENAISSANCE of NGOUMOU.
Given the kind of pitches selected for this season’s championship footballers are expected take their game to a new level as the drive to professionalism continues.
